If you are new to the area, understandably, you could be looking for a dentist Soho who can cater for a variety of needs, including preventive dental care and dental care for such things as emergencies. Here at PS Dental Care, we are pleased to offer a variety of treatments to our patients, which include cosmetic dental treatments, catering for you if you have a missing tooth, general dental treatments and facial aesthetics.
Emergency dentistry
At PS Dental Care, we understand that dental emergencies can happen at any time, anywhere, and they can be very inconvenient and painful. Dental emergencies can include abscesses, broken teeth and lost fillings and crowns, and they often need to be dealt with as soon as possible. If you are working or living in central London, our dentist Soho is pleased to offer you the dental care you need if you are experiencing a dental emergency.
We sometimes find that patients are unsure about the correct level of dental care required for their circumstances. If this is something you are experiencing, or it sounds familiar to you, please give us a call and allow us to advise you on how soon you may need to be seen by our dentist Soho.
Missing teeth can also sometimes be an emergent dental need. For example, when a tooth is lost due to injury, this may need to be dealt with promptly. In some instances, the missing tooth can be reinserted into its socket in the jaw, but this requires visiting our emergency dentist quickly.
At times, it may not be possible to reinsert the teeth, for example, if the jawbone is not stable enough to receive them. In such cases, treatment would most likely take place at A and E for you to receive the correct level of care for your injury. Once the emergent side of things has been appropriately addressed, it may be possible to have your missing teeth replaced with some form of dental prosthetic.
Dental implants
Dental implants are a well-known treatment at our clinic and are used to replace missing teeth. They are made up of three components, each with particular roles to play. The implanted screw is made from titanium, which is known to be a hypoallergenic material. This screw mimics the function of the natural tooth root, anchoring the rest of the dental implant in place. Once the screw has been secured into the jawbone, we will allow some healing time before taking the next steps in treatment.
The abutment connects the visible prosthetic with the screw that has been implanted. It is a metal rod that is put into the screw and comes up above the gum line to create the surface for the visible pontics to be adhered to.
The visible prosthetic is usually a crown where only one tooth is being replaced. Of course, in some cases, it might be that several adjacent teeth are missing and require replacement, in which case, the implanted screws may support a denture of several teeth rather than a single crown.
