Have your pearly whites at the pearly gates

Updated: Jun 21, 2018

We all have ambitions in life, things we’d like to have achieved by the time we die. One thing very few people manage though is to die with a full set of teeth. And yet, in the 21st century, it is possible to meet your maker at a ripe old age with all your pearly whites intact, you just have to work at it.

At PS Dental Care, your dentist in Soho, we firmly believe in the power of preventive dentistry, and, we love to play our part in helping people hang on to their teeth.

But you must play your part too and that requires daily discipline and a willingness to see your dentist in Soho for check-ups.

Here’s a few tips on how to keep your teeth strong and healthy:

PS Dental Care

Brush

Brush your teeth at least twice a day, using a good fluoride toothpaste. You need to do this to help keep plaque at bay. Plaque is that white sticky stuff that builds up on teeth and then hardens into tartar. The bacteria that live on it release the acid that eats into your teeth to create cavities. Don’t forget to brush your tongue and gums too. Ask our hygienists how to brush if you are not sure.

Floss

Floss between your teeth, or use interdental brushes, at least once day. You need to remove any stuck food and plaque there to prevent cavities.

Avoid sugar

Sugar is really bad for your teeth. It creates the perfect living conditions for bacteria that release the acid that damage teeth. Avoid sugary drinks and food, and if you can’t give up sugar, brush or rinse out your mouth after eating or drinking it.

Have regular check-ups

Only your dentist in Soho can spot decay and gum disease while they are in their early stages. You won’t be able to feel anything until they are advanced, which means more complex treatment and possibly, one day, losing a tooth. You also need to see our hygienist to remove plaque and tartar, which build up despite your diligent brushing.

If you do all this throughout your life, you stand a good chance of hanging on to your teeth.

These tips for the pearly white teeth are just so good. Well I tried a couple of home remedies too but they did not work that much. I would like to get the professional dental whitening treatment from the Torrance dentist from http://newsmilesdentistry.com/. Hopefully will be able to get good results!
